Our history
Hut holidays on the Kreuzwiesen Alm in South Tyrol near Brixen in Lüsen, in one of the most beautiful mountain huts in South Tyrol, means experiencing the nostalgia of bygone days when you enter the rustic hut. Warped and wild romantic, wrapped in the larch wood fragrance, is the part of the hut built in 1932/33.
The grandfather of the present owner Johann Hinteregger chose the place because of its uniquely beautiful, sunny location on the most beautiful spot of the Lüsner Alm, with up to 15 hours of sunshine per day and as a strategic base for the transition from Lüsen to Puster valley. The hut was run by the owners from the beginning. In the summer it has always served as a refuge and both the hospitality and the management of the pasture and processing of milk. In the thirties and forties the ski guild of South Tyrol expressed great interest in the hut.
Then it was rented in winter to ski mountaineers as a base for ski tours and ski hikes. Since time immemorial, the Kreuzwiesen hut in South Tyrol has been a popular meeting place for music lovers and musicians. Herbert Hinteregger and his sons continue to exemplify this tradition of making music to this day.
In 2005, the hut was rebuilt and extended and now offers the viewer a harmonious interplay of natural stone and larch wood romance. The mountain cabin now has new rooms, a new lounge and will also spoil you with a sauna and bowling alley.
